Born and raised in the Wakpamni District, I am one of 25 children born to James Big Crow Sr. and Marcella Mills Big Crow—including an extraordinary eight sets of twins among my siblings. I spent all twelve years of my schooling at Holy Rosary Mission, now known as Mahpiya Luta, where my roots in faith and community deepened.
I’ve been blessed to share my life with my husband, George Dreamer Sr., for 46 beautiful years. Together, we’ve raised five children and now delight in the joy of 19 grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Family is the heartbeat of my life, and I cherish every moment spent passing down the traditions and teachings that shaped me.
In 2000, my journey as a storyteller took on new form when my mother-in-law, Norma Blacksmith, taught me how to make story quilts. These quilts became more than fabric and thread—they became vessels of memory, prayer, and healing. Around that same time, we began feeding the homeless and hungry, a calling that has remained close to our hearts ever since.
Though I’ve walked with the Lord for over two decades, I was baptized on October 26, 2016 - my birthday - a moment that marked a deep spiritual milestone. Since then, I’ve continued to serve with joy, humility, and gratitude.
Today, I am busy teaching my grandchildren the values and skills passed down to me, continuing to quilt, feed those in need, and live a life of service. Every blessing, every act of love—I give all the glory to God!
